Lowestoft Girls Free Taster Session

On Thursday 6th December, Football in the Community travelled to Kirkley High School, Lowestoft and invited girls between the ages of 7 and 11 to take part in a FREE football taster session.

Despite the horrible weather over 40 girls arrived and took part in the session, which involved coaching from the FITC team and playing matches against the other girls.

Football in the Community's Girls Development Officer Emma Fletcher said ‘It was great to see so many girls in one area, meeting new friends, playing football and generally enjoying themselves.  Hopefully it will have encouraged those girls that don't play football for a team to contact their local club and start playing'.

All the girls were given information about how to find the nearest club, along with contacts.  Players from the evening will have also been given the chance to be selected for Football in the Community's Lowestoft Player Development Centre.
