FITC get Helping Hand at Multi Skills Session
Children at Browick Road Infant School took part in an FITC Multi skill session they would never forget on Wednesday 7th October 2009.
Sportacus, the moustachioed star of children's TV show Lazytown, dropped in to Browick Road Infant School to assist the FITC coaches as part of a scheme to make children more active and healthy.
The character was well known to the 130 kids taking part as the super hero who fights laziness on CBBC by encouraging them to eat fruit and vegetables and play sport.
FITC were visiting browick as part of the FITC school sports ‘multi skills' programme, where children take part in fun games to help develop and improve their fundamental movement skills and agility, balance and co-ordination.
FITCs multi skills programme is jointly funded by the School Sports Partnership and the Football League trust and is aimed at developing children physical literacy and also upskilling primary teaching staff. The current funding allows FITC multi skills staff to spend 6 weeks with 22 different schools every half term, ensuring that over this academic year 132 Norfolk schools will receive FUNdamental movement sessions.
