Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Last Thursday FITC in conjunction with the Norfolk FA held their 2nd Taster Session for Girls aged between 5 and 7 at Carrow Park.

The 1st session was held just under a month ago on a raining Saturday afternoon, despite the weather 90 girls spread over 3 hours took part in a FREE fun football session.  Coaches from both FITC and Norfolk FA, along with young volunteers from Norwich City Girls Centre of Excellence ensured the girl's spirits were not dampened by the weather.

Thursday night a further 32 girls attended the 2nd session, with no sign of rain and plenty of sunshine the girls once again were treated to fun football games which included ‘treasure hunt' and ‘keepers v strikers' before taking part in small sided matches.

Emma Fletcher FITC Girls and Women's Development Officer said ‘ When we first advertised the FREE Taster Session back in May we didn't expect to receive over 140 applications from girls to attend.  As a response to this we added an extra date to try and accommodate as many of the girls as possible.  I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff involved on both days.'

As a result of so many girls wanting to attend the Taster session FITC have launched a New Course called ‘Soccerettes' this course is specifically for girls aged 5-7.  The course will run for 6 weeks at Carrow Park, Norwich City FC and costs £18.00.  Girls will learn about fundamental movements, balance and co-ordination as well as play football.  The course starts on Tuesday 15th July from 5.30pm - 6.30pm for an application form please contact the FITC office on 01603 761112.
