Girls Elite Half Term Action

The October Half term saw the Norwich City Girls Elite squad attend their autumn training camp at CNS High School Norwich. To test their abilities the girls headed out west to play against King's Lynn FC and Peterborough United FC, Football in the Community teams.

The training camp and fixtures were an opportunity for the girls to demonstrate what they had learnt over the last five weeks. It was also the ideal environment for the coaches to assess the girls in a match environment. The girls will receive their match report as part of their written assessment at the end of year.

The Elite programme is part of the already successful girl's programme currently running at Football in the Community it offers technical coaching once a week to girls aged of 6 - 15. Within the programme the girls will also take part in fitness tests similar to the Girls Centre of Excellence.

To be part of the Elite programme players are selected through summer trials held in July, opportunities to be selected can also come from progressing from one of the Player Development Technical Centres or by being scouted by one of the FITC staff.
