Disability Advanced Coaching

Having Grass-Root activities in place has allowed the program to offer advanced coaching to players who have excelled despite of their disability giving them the opportunity to progress and fulfil their football potential.

Within the adult program Norwich City have two squads who play in the Eastern Region League where in previous years they have been extremely successful, winning the league two out of three years. Other teams taking part include Ipswich Town, Bedfordshire FA, Colchester Utd, Hunts FA, Cambridge Utd and Watford FC.

As part of their success they have also been up to Manchester to take part in the National Finals and despite not winning they managed to return undefeated.  The teams train once a week and work on both individual and team performance, this acts as a great incentive and has already helped many individuals to regain self confidence, enhance quality of life and improve leadership and team work skills.

Football in the Community, with help from The FA, have also provided advanced coaching for U14 and U17 players. They form part of the ever increasing Centre of Excellence, where as with the adults, receive training once a week and play representative games for Norwich City.

In 2009/10 both squads will be playing in the South East Centre of Excellence Ability Counts League.
