Football in the Community based at Norwich City Football Club is a football and Sports charity that aims to improve the health, social esteem, and skills of Children and Adults across Norfolk & North Suffolk.
Receiving national awards from the FA for soccer schools, and The Football League "Community Initiative Award" in 2007 the scheme effects 50,000 children and adults per year. Coaching and helping many schools, community groups and voluntary organisations
Norwich City FC / Norfolk County FA Football In The Community is a registered Charity and has been providing Football at grass roots level for over 14 years. It has a unique partnership established in 1992 with the Professional Football Association, Norfolk County FA and Norwich City Football Club Football in the Community provides a vast programme of football based activities that directly and indirectly benefits the community of South Norfolk as well as Norfolk and North Suffolk in a variety of ways.
The charities Mission Statement is:
"To provide positive, sustainable sports and educational activities for young people using Norwich City Football Club as a tool to engage with the local community and address social problems".
Objectives:
1. Based on the needs of the local community increase opportunities for young people to participate in sports activities through effective partnerships and securing the necessary funding, delivery contracts and sponsorship to deliver programmes.
2. Provide diversionary activities to hard to reach or excluded young people through links with other external organisations through delivery contracts.
3. Provide a comprehensive disability project that increases self-esteem, health, personal and social skills of all participants.
4. Provide an effective volunteer, training and development programme to increase the quality and quantity of coaches and volunteers.
5. To increase access to quality facilities by implementing the Carrow Park (New Sports Facility) Development Plan.
6. Provide a structured pathway for players to progress to their desired level through an extensive Talent Identification and Development Programme.
Maintain high levels of management and administration of the charity through effective planning, communication, customer care and promotion of opportunities.
